Reflections of a Man

If you are looking for a book that will provide you with an insight on the complexity and beauty of personal relationships, then this is the one for you. The author wrote this for every strong and independent woman out there. This book has become a sensation ever since its lunch in the start of 2015 and people are buying it at every book store and every online market place. Continue reading “Reflections of a Man”

The Book Thief

As I completed the last words in this book, I just sat for a few minutes. That’s always been the power of great books, they force you to think and reflect on everything. Continue reading “The Book Thief”

Six of Crows

Six of Crows is set in the world of Grisha, which may be familiar to those that have read the Grisha trilogy. I haven’t read the trilogy yet, so I was afraid that I would be a bit confused but I wasn’t at all.  Continue reading “Six of Crows”

Warm Bodies

I have mixed feelings on this book. It’s one of those few books that actually lives up to its cover blurb but I also wasn’t completely blown away. Continue reading “Warm Bodies”

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a coming of age story centred around a young boy. The book begins with Charlie’s first day as a freshman as he tries to get over the death of his sort of friend Michael. He shuffles through everyday life observing, but really taking part, hence – wallflower. That is, until he meets Sam and Patrick two unusual third years with a thirst for life. They lead him into a world of drugs, sex, alcohol, but most importantly friendship. A coming of age story of emotional discovery. Continue reading “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”

The Bad Beginning

Reading reviews, alot of people have wondered how could possibly liked The Bad Beginning, I can honestly say that I loved this series and continued with it until the last book. I also had alot of friends who were big fans as well.  Continue reading “The Bad Beginning”

The 5th Wave

The 5th Wave has taken residency on my shelf for over a year now and I’m not sure why I didn’t read it sooner as I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the perfect combination of dystopian world, extra-terrestrial creatures, sassy characters, and unexpected plot twists that me love this book. I’m ecstatic to read the sequel to this heart-pounding novel. Continue reading “The 5th Wave”

For Magnus Chase: Hotel Valhalla Guide to the Norse Worlds

Another entertaining read from the mind of Rick Riordan. This book is perfect for those of you who want a little more background information on Norse Mythology, but don’t really know where to start. I love that instead of retelling popular myths, Riordan gives out stats on each of the prominent figures and then has either an interview or a character that was actually present for the myth tell the story. Continue reading “For Magnus Chase: Hotel Valhalla Guide to the Norse Worlds”

Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes

I’ve meaning to read this book ever since I once snuck into a classical mythology class whilst I was in college. I love mythology and folklore and fables. And I always wanted to take a class on it but my schedule never allowed for it. So when I saw Edith Hamilton’s Mythology chilling on a bookshelf. I had to buy it and begin reading immediately. Continue reading “Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes”
